The Sacred Canoe is a multi-discipline production co-created by artist Glenn Marais and Sacred Heart Catholic High School Department Head of Arts Dawn Ellis-Mobbs and Visual Arts teacher, Julee Colucci.

This project will feature First Nations Drumming and singing by Jacob Charles and Charging Horse Singers and original songs by Glenn Marais.

The showcase will include artwork, music, dance, spoken word and drama presentations inspired by students and people of Webequie, Attawapiskat and Innalik School.

The performance is a cultural partnership that seeks to answer Calls to Action from the Truth and Reconciliation Report and present an informed historical perspective for First Nations people and Canadians. There will be a stunning gallery presentation of all works of art created during the project including an epic 17 foot long painted canoe representing First Nations Cultural History.

Admission is free.
